Oberthur Technologies receives International Innovation awards from Act Canada for the third year in a row
Nanterre, June 29, 2011–Oberthur Technologies, a world leader in the field of secure technologies, received two International Innovation Awards from ACT Canada, an internationally recognized non-profit association and trusted knowledge resource in the payment and secure identity markets. The awards were presented at Cardware 2011, ACT Canada’s annual conference, held June 14-15 in Niagara Falls.
The International Innovation Awards recognize organizations that have introduced innovative new technologies, applications or services into the market in the past year. ACT Canada awarded gold, silver and bronze awards, as well as honorable mentions in seven different categories.
Oberthur Technologies was a gold award recipient in the hardware category for CityGo USB™, a versatile contactless device that allows travelers to securely download transit tickets from the Internet and use them to avoid long lines at the station.
In the software category, Oberthur Technologies was a silver award recipient for system-One™, a turnkey issuance and post issuance system for all electronic or traditional identification documents, including passports, national identity cards, driving licenses, voting cards, military cards, secure access badges and health cards.

In 2010 Oberthur Technologies won two Innovation awards at ACT Canada’s annual conference; one for Smart Pin, the first service that allows card issuers to securely deliver card PINs via mobile text message; and the other for EMV-In-A-Box, a complete, turnkey EMV Migration solution- containing consultancy, training, project management and technical support in as little as 12 weeks.
At ACT Canada’s 2009 event Oberthur Technologies received second place in the Banking/Finance category for FlyBuy Sticker, a contactless payment device that can be attached to any surface including a mobile phone, PDA, MP3 player or key ring, allowing the end user to choose their very own personalized payment device.
