Gemalto and Toshiba Sign Worldwide Patent License Agreement
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, April 3, 2009 – Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, today announced it has reached a worldwide patent license agreement with Toshiba, a leading manufacturer of electronic equipment and handsets in the Japanese market. Through this agreement under Gemalto’s newly launched licensing program, Toshiba is licensed under Gemalto patents for use in their mobile communication products.
The agreement recognizes Gemalto’s contribution to the GSM/GPRS technology and allows Toshiba to continue its development in the GSM/GPRS handset market.
The terms and conditions of the agreement are not disclosed.
